Who Are You?
Laurion Studio is an independent developer of entertainment software that focuses on bringing a fresh look and feel to overlooked classical genres. The company’s current projects seek to reinterpret some of the best and most demanding features of old-school role-playing adventures for a generation of gamers that is increasingly jaded with a steady diet of "dumbed-down" games. Past entertainment titles included the Risqué Renee series, a parody of casino games, released in 1999 for the PC.
Laurion is a family-owned and operated business that we started in 1989. We also publish numismatic reference books under the Laurion Publishing imprint, and we own and operate Van Meter and Van Meter, LLC,, an independent financial services firm in Little Falls, New York. David Van Meter is the principal creative force behind Laurion Studio. Dave holds a Ph.D. in History from Boston University, where he wrote his dissertation on Carolingian and Capetian-era political eschatologies. (If you would like to view a copy of Dave's curriculum vitae, please click here).
Christine Van Meter is the business mind, and the voice of reason, that really makes Laurion Studio work. Chris earned her M.B.A. from Boston University.
How Long Have You Been In Business?
We’ve been selling software and books for nearly twenty years now, so we’re pretty good at it. Rest assured that you will get a high-quality game, with good support!
How Do You Sell Your Games?
We currently sell our games using the "shareware" distribution model. This means you can download a demo version of the game and try it for FREE, with absolutely NO risk to you! If you like the game, then you can buy it by registering on-line. The choice is yours.
The shareware model is good for us too, since it means we don't have to manufacture discs and packaging, or jump through hoops to fight for shelf-space at major retailers. We save money, which means you save money, and we're both much happier in the end.
What Is Your Support Policy?
We offer free, e-mail technical support to anyone who purchases one of our games. Your e-mails will be promptly read and answered by a real person ... and usually by the guy who designed and coded the game!
What Is Your Privacy Policy?
Laurion Studio respects your privacy! We do not share, sell or distribute any information that we store about our customers to other companies or individuals. It’s that simple! The only possible exception would be when required by law or under the good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary in order to conform to applicable law, comply with subpoenas, court orders or legal process served on Laurion Studio, to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
